Rev. Therese Bimka, LCSW

Therese is a spiritual director and a psychotherapist in private practice in the Hudson Valley and the former director of The Interspiritual Counseling Program at One Spirit Interfaith Alliance (2011-2021).  She is a seasoned leader of retreats and workshops on a wide range of psycho-spiritual and creative themes.

She has advanced training in various trauma-based teachings, guided visualizations for health, mindfulness meditation, Buddhism and Psychology, Expressive Arts, Jungian Sandplay Therapy, Soulcollage,  Restorative Justice, and Collective Trauma, among others.

Therese has led workshops and retreats for organizations, training institutes, educational institutions, government facilities, congregations, and community based nonprofits, in addition to offering workshops in The Forest Sanctuary, her retreat Center in the Hudson Valley. She has also lead international trips to The Goddess Temples of Malta and to Sacred Sites in India and is currently plans to lead a trip to the White Lions Preserve in Timbavati, South Africa in 2025.

Therese is actively involved in community social action projects in collaboration with colleagues and Dharmakaya such as The Hungry Ghost Training and Retreat for Frontline Workers dealing with the Opioid Crisis and The BIPOC Leadership Weekend, an annual event since 2021.

In tandem, Therese is spending more time in her art studio at The Forest Sanctuary playing, dreaming, and communing with creation.
