Mindfulness & Creativity Invite Stillness Through Play

RETREAT BY INVITED PRESENTER

The retreat blends mindfulness, introspection, fun, and imagination.  This weekend invites living with purpose and accessing the aliveness and miracle of this precious journey we call life through the gentle yet powerful SoulCollage® process. Together we will create an experience that is spacious, warm, engaging, creative, and inspirational.

“The process and the manifestation provided many lessons. I couldn’t believe how much creativity and contemplation was brought forward in such a short time.”

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Friday evening opens the weekend with an introduction to Mandala making as a contemplative practice.  As a seasoned workshop leader – Therese teaches – how mandala drawing can be a quiet, joyful and easeful process for deep reflection and for accessing inner silence and stillness.  Learn a new practice to support grounding and resiliency that can be used at home to deepen your spiritual practice.

The rest of the weekend will offer playful creative exercises,  SoulCollage® and journaling, group share,  movement, and a delightful sound bath—activities that combine to create a beautiful integrative experience inviting soulful rest and restoration through play and contemplation.

SoulCollage: A daylong contemplative journey: Developed by Seena Frost, SoulCollage®,  involves the use of collaged imagery on 5 x 7 cards to create a “deck” that captures a glimpse of the Divine spark that lives within all of us.

SoulCollage®  is a beautiful creative, sacred visioning tool for accessing your deep and authentic inner wisdom. It helps unlock emotional obstacles that keep us stuck, and offers accurate guidance for how to step into the most authentic expression of your vital core self.  It is a wonderful tool for activating inner-directed purpose and guidance. It is a creativity practice that is suitable for those just beginning to explore their creative self and for those who are more fluid in that language and in that relationship.  SoulCollage®  offers a plumb line that is gentle and accurate in terms of accessing wisdom beyond the primacy of the mind.

What’s included:

  • Guided Meditation
  • Introduction to SoulCollage®
  • Tips for Creating Cards
  • The Contemplative Practice of Sifting For Imagery
  • Card Making
  • Using The SoulCollage®  Writing Prompt: I Am the One Who

Group Meditation: Meditation offers a myriad of benefits for mind, body, and spirit. Practitioners often find it beneficial to meditate together in community, jointly increasing their depth of focus and comfort in their meditation practice. Join the Dharmakaya Center staff as you become more peaceful, feel more centered, experience a greater sense of wellbeing.

Sound Bath: Sound Baths create an atmosphere that will enable you to drop into deep relaxation and soulful restoration. Therese works with a number of sound healers from the Hudson Valley.
