“Asana is meditation in action”

RETREAT BY INVITED PRESENTER

The beauty of yoga practice is that we learn to be more accepting of where and who we really are in each moment. With this knowledge we can engage the world around us with compassion and kindness. Join this weekend retreat to gain greater awareness of body, breath, and how to retain focus. Now is the time to refresh and renew your practice.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

This Iyengar yoga weekend retreat will bring you back to the basics of yoga. BKS Iyengar states, “Asana is meditation in action.” While a consistent asana practice aligns and balances our bodies, a consistent pranayama practice attends to and refines our breath. In this way we learn to focus and bring our minds to a more steady and stable state. Throughout the course of this weekend, you will participate in asana and pranayama classes and will be given guided meditation. There will also be group discussion to deepen understanding and help embed the lessons of our time together.

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

  • Intimate setting with personal access to the teacher
  • Interactive sessions and group discussion
  • Quiet reflection and guided meditation
  • Delicious all-vegetarian meals with locally-sourced ingredients
  • Option to extend stay on Personal Retreat
